Weekend at Nana's (1st overnight visit without Mama!)

Last Thursday we loaded the girls up and headed to Manhattan. Zach’s friend Rusty got married about a month ago in Vegas and his family was throwing them a “meet and greet” so since we couldn’t make it to Vegas, Zach really wanted to make it up to Iowa this weekend for that. Well, it was more of an “adult only” kinda weekend so after MONTHS and MONTHS of begging to have the girls for a whole weekend, Nana finally got her wish.

So we stayed the night Thursday in Manhattan with our kiddos and the next morning we headed to Iowa. It was the hardest thing I think I have ever done! I was bawling like a baby before we even said good-bye!

I called and talked to them like 5 times a day and Nana texted me pictures so I would see for myself how they were doing and from what I could tell, they were completely miserable.

They had absolutely no fun playing with the other daycare kids on Friday. They ate disgusting pizza and Nana made them drink “coca” (coke). She forced them to eat popcorn while watching a boring movie and that was just Friday!

On Saturday Nana kept them soooo busy that my poor babies had absolutely NO rest. She took them to visit our family, then took them shopping (the horror!) twice, and instead of fixing them a sensible healthy lunch, the girls had to eat McDonalds. Poor babies!
The girls most definitely were NOT begging to go back to Nana’s house on the 4.5 hour long car ride back to Mama. And they most certainly did NOT get dressed this morning, shoes and all, and asked to go “bye-bye to Nana’s house” after Nana and Aunt Karlie left for Tulsa.

As you can see, they missed their Mama terribly and are not planning on ever being away from her ever again.......; )

This made me laugh! Poor girls... :)
Kylie is always asking to go "bye bye to Chi Chi's house" (that's what she calls my mom).
