This week we have been reading lots of Easter books and today we had a practice Easter egg hunt! We are supposed to be going to Tulsa this weekend for a big Easter egg hunt with Zach’s side of the family (if it doesn’t rain that is) so I thought I would see how well Addie would grasp the concept of finding eggs and putting them in her basket.
Oh boy! Did she have fun! I asked her to close her eyes while I hid about 15 eggs all over our living room and dining area then I gave her her Easter basket and told her to find all the “balls” (that is what she calls them….she is a very silly girl). She got so excited! She was bending over to look for eggs and gasping with excitement when she found one! It was a riot! After she found all the eggs she took her basket over to Mia and dumped them all out so Mia could play with them too.
So now I am even more excited about having a real Easter egg hunt this Sunday! I hope it doesn’t rain! Addie is going to have a blast!
Mia is doing new things every day it seems. She is at probably my favorite stage of development (1st year of life anyway) because she is still “cuddly” but is starting to do more “big kid” things. She is pulling up on everything and walks if you hold her hands (quite well actually) and now she waves “hi” and “bye-bye” whenever someone leaves or comes into the room as well as on cue. She even waves bye-bye to Elmo when Elmo’s World is over (we watch Sesame Street everyday). She tries to mimic sounds and claps when you say “yay” or if she gets excited about something (in fact, she clapped this morning when she saw Elmo-we are an Elmo-lovin‘ household)).
Addie literally repeats back everything Zach or I say to her (including an incident a few days ago when Zach was frustrated and decided to use some colorful language. He swears she didn’t say what I am almost positive she said but he apologized anyway and has improved quite drastically in his word choice lately).
That’s about it in the Cope household.
I hope every one has a Happy, rain-free, Easter!

I’ll leave you with these two pictures:
1) Addie with Princess Car, Easter Sunday last year (almost 9 months):
2) Mia with Princess Car, the Thursday before Easter this year (almost 8 months)
