Where did the time go?

Mia tried squash for the first time this weekend.....
And as you can see, she loved it!

These next pictures are of Addie eating baby food for the first time (she had bananas)

I decided that I would introduce veggies to Mia first because I introduced fruits first with Addie and Addie ended up ONLY wanting to eat her fruits and hating her veggies. So hopefully Mia ends up liking everything! I couldn't believe how much she enjoyed eating squash! She ate the entire jar and probably would have kept on eating had I kept feeding her!

I am going to give her some more squash today! I was going to wait until she was 6 months before giving her baby food but I am kind of glad that I went ahead and started her now because she is definitely ready for it! Addie started eating baby food right at 4 months too.

Mia is also starting to use her sippy cup. I don't particular care for bottles and would rather not introduce them at all if it can be avoided. I have been really lucky with breastfeeding both times. Addie had to use a bottle of expressed milk (formula has never touched my baby's lips--don't get me wrong, I am not AGAINST formula, it's just not for me! The smell bothers me....) occasionally because I was taking a class on campus and had to leave her for a hour or so every monday but as soon as I introduced solids to her I started giving her a sippy and she figured out how to use it pretty quick and I never gave her a bottle again. Since I have no reason to leave Mia yet I figure if I can just get her started using a sippy cup then I might never have to give her a bottle. And that would be wonderful!

Doesn't she look so big practicing with her sippy cup?
I really love this time I get to spend with the girls at home. I know it can't last forever and that eventually they will start school but I am not going to lie--sometimes I wish I could just freeze time so they stayed little forever!
Last night Zach and I were sitting on the couch, he was watching football and I was reading (big surprise there) and he just looked down at Addie who had fallen asleep in the middle of the living room floor and said "look how big she is". It is so crazy to see how much she has grown and changed just in the last 6 months. I can't believe that in just 5 short months she will be 2 years old. And then there is Mia who is eating solids, sitting up and starting to scoot. Where did the time go?
I am just going to have to have about 5 more kids! LOL Yeah, that would go over well with the hubby! : )

It's crazy how fast the time has gone. At the same time, it seems like Kylie has been a part of our lives forever. It's hard to remember the prebaby days. It's just the fact that they get so big so quickly!
You are so lucky to be able to breastfeed your girls so long especially since you became pregnant during the first year. Right about the time I was pregnant again, Kylie refused to breastfeed and I had to give her formula. I found out later that breastmilk becomes saltier when you are pregnant and most babies don't like it as much. Weird, huh? So we only made it to 7 months with Kylie.
Oh, and sometimes I think I would love 5 more too. But then I remember that we don't have enough space or money!
