Weekend in Manhattan (for New Years!)
Of course, we all get really cute individual pictures, but when we try to take a family one, this is what we get:
LOL I am beginning to think this is a lost cause!
We left for Manhattan friday afternoon when Zach got off work and made it there in record time! We have been going a different way the past few times and it's amazing how much faster it is. We used to go through KC but that would take us about 4.5 hours but this new way we have been taking gets us there in about 4 including a stop half way to go "potty" and get some dinner. By the way, Mia did not have one single accident all weekend. Including both the road trip to and from! I was very proud of her!
Mia and Jack didn't quite make it to midnight (no surprise there though! LOL) but Addie sure did! I was shocked! She rang in the New Year with the rest of us and then quickly fell asleep. I didn't even stay up for the fireworks. I kissed Zach at midnight and went straight to bed like Addie. What can I say? I am getting old!
Saturday, my sister came over with her husband. We haven't seen them since June! They both joined the Army reserves! Karlie is all finished with her basic training and AIT but Casey still has until April. He was just home for Christmas break.
On our way home sunday, we saw a real LIVE coyote! I have this weird obsession with coyotes. It all started when we bought our first house. It wasn't really out in the country but it was right outside town and on this really large open field and at night you could hear coyotes SUPER close to our house. It was crazy to me! Ever since, I've been fascinated by them. I've seen them dead on the side of the road a few times. Zach even pulled over one morning on his way to drill to take a picture of one because he knows of my obsession! But this weekend was the first time I have ever seen one alive! I guess I can cross that one off of my bucket list!
