Bedtime Stories
Addie's favorite bedtime story is "How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?". Since we have been living in Manhattan, we have read this story at least twice a night every night. In fact, I think it will be the first book Addie can "read" by herself since she has the whole thing memorized now and reads it along with me. I can read just the first part of the sentence and she will finish the rest of it. And with such emotion too! She really gets into it--roaring when the Dinorsaur roars, sighing when he sighs, crying when he cries. It is really quite comical to listen to her read her favorite book. Mia's favorite book is still "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" and she now identifies all the colors of the animals as well as the sound that animal makes. Bedtime (when the girls are cooperating anyway) has actually turned into one of my favorite times of day. Of course, when the girls are choosing NOT to cooperate, well, it's my LEAST favorite time of day until they have screamed themselves to sleep and it is quiet once again that is! : )
