Here are some new pictures that pretty much sum up what the girls have been up to the past week and a half that they have been going to "Nana's School".
Addie especially loves doing art projects and (if I may say so) she is the BEST artist in the whole daycare! Mia loves playing in the tunnel. She crawls through it as fast as she possibly can and giggles hysterically! Addie and Mia are doing reall well.
They both play very nicely with the other kids, are BIG helpers and follow all the rules. Nana says she never has any problem with them and that if they ever went to a different daycare/preschool, their teacher would LOVE them because they are so sweet and kind and listen so well. Which of course makes me really happy. I'm not sure how many of you know this (I didn't talk about it too much) but about a year and a half ago I was told that I "sheltered" Addie (at the time I was pregnant with Mia) too much and didn't expose her to enough of a variety of people or things and so when she did start school she would have a hard time adjusting. It really hurt my feelings that someone would say such mean things to me. Especially since Addie was going through the typical "stranger anxiety" phase and wasn't too fond of people she didn't see very often...which is normal and there was nothing I could have done to make her any different. Everyone who knows me, knows how important my children are to me and how I want to be the best mommy possible for them. I had a really hard time with that and it was pretty brutal to my self-image. BUT since then I have realized that I shouldn't put too much stock in what that particular person thinks (after all, they have absolutely NO room to be voicing parenting advice...they are most definitely NOT perfect and their kids have problems of their own, but I digress...).
ANYWAY
I am thrilled beyond words that the girls are adjusting PERFECTLY to their new routine and are doing EXCEPTIONALLY well. They are two of the BEST behaved kids at the daycare and my little social butterflies have made lots of new friends (Addie is especially fond of a little red-haired boy...). So obviously I did something right! My girls are healthy, well adjusted, social, sweet, caring SMART little girls who I ADORE more than anything!
